As I see many people do experience this Facebook password reset problem.
Sometimes there’s a security threat when somebody tries to steal your FB password.
In this case friend of mine lost FB password. While attempting to reset password, Facebook said “You Have Reached The Limit Of Password Reset Attempts”.
The solution was to wait another 24 hours and demand password reset again on this page https://www.facebook.com/recover.php.
It failed again with same formulation You Have Reached The Limit Of Password Reset Attempts..
Note: NEVER try to make your OLD password a NEW one. Chose different one with one capital letter and numbers, 8 symbols, no dictionary words..
So we tried to do it from different computer and it worked out well. Facebook asked to recognize friends on pictures, then asked other questions. We spent four days total trying to recover FB password, waiting until it allows to ask for password reset again and finally did it!
So, with Facebook lost password and attempts to reset it you need to be very patient and make numerous attempts. If it doesn’t work in 24 hrs, try in 48 and so on.
Oh, forgot: after you successfully reset your password wait for another maybe 10 minutes to login. It may not propagate your new pass on Facebook at once and you may fall into vicious circle of trying to reset it again.
